Investigatory Committee Hyping Up Slogan About Lukashenka

It is unclear what the officials of the Investigatory Committee are trying to do, initiating a criminal case for the slogan "Lukashenka, you are a jerk! Stop robbing people without end!”

The trumped-up case of Lukashenka's "insult" in Brest is becoming increasingly fanciful.

Activist of the civil campaign "European Belarus" from Brest Andrei Sharenda told the Charter97.org about this.

- How did your visit to the Investigatory Committee on Brest and Brest Region end?

- As expected, they changed the status for me and my wife Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk for “suspect” in the case of Lukashenka's "insult".

I would like to note that this case seems to acquire more and more fantastic details. More and more absurd inconsistencies keep appearing in this fake case made up by the authorities. Like, my wife and I seem to be suspects in one and the same case, but today it suddenly turned out that I "insulted" Lukashenka on February 16, and my wife didi it on February 17. We allegedly used the same streamer in the same place. Moreover, the "witness" said that I had allegedly hung out the streamer by myself. Now it is not clear - are we suspected in one and the same case or is it two different cases?

However, let's start with the beginning. There was already that same perjurer, I cannot call him any other word, who slandered against my wife yesterday - Ihar Leaniuk, in the investigator's office. They also invited students from the hostel, which is located next door. They were 10-15 years younger than me and of completely different constitution.

Nevertheless, the "witness" immediately stated that he "identified me by the bristle" and that it allegedly had been me, "hanging out" and “taking pictures of” the streamer "Lukashenka, you are a jerk! Stop robbing people without end!” , by myself.

Then he began to get confused in the dates. It was originally supposed that I allegedly "hung out" this streamer on February 17. When asked by the investigator what I was doing on this day, I sincerely replied: I was participating in the Outraged Belarusians’ March in Minsk. After that, the "witness" began to assert that he saw me hanging out the streamer on February 16. And so it went into the case, in which I already began to appear as a "suspect". It's just ridiculous how they started to remake this "case" on the move.

After that, the investigator offered me to have my epithelium taken for examination, which I refused.

- How do you comment on the actions of the Investigatory Committee?

- I told the investigator straight in the office that I consider this case to be political and I am amused by the methods by which they fabricate it.
