Ales Dzianisau: "They Are After Me Today, And Will Be After You Tomorrow"

The authorities have started to use a new method of fighting free musicians.

The Hrodna musician has commented on the decision of the art council under the Minsk City Executive Committee, which recognized his level of performing as low.

Dzetsiuki band leader Ales Dzianisau said in an interview to tuzinfm.by:

– There is a popular saying: if the dog has nothing to do, then it licks its balls. It seems that if officials have nothing to do, they are going to meetings. Comrade Skalaban and representatives of the Minsk City Executive Committee created a whole commission to analyze the work of my modest personality! They lost time and people's money, but they did not let an uncultured schmuck to the stage. People can sleep peacefully!

I'm confused and bewildered. I even do not know how to react. On the one hand, I was struck out of the "extremists", which is good. After all, I try to wish nobody ill. Especially, I don’t want to shoot or blow up anyone. On the other hand, the loud and formidable "extremist" was replaced by a "lame duck". A little bit offensive.

No, I'm not making pretense to anything. I'm not an Andrea Bocelli and Joe Satriani in one bottle. But I hope that such people were in the commission. I hope that in the near future we will get acquainted with the work of Minsk ideologists, who will make a real cultural and entertaining event. I hope that they will record such a musical album that all the dogs will bite off their balls with joy!

I do not believe in the most honest and fair one. I consider Siarhei Budkin’s case to be a failure from the very beginning. But one cannot stay silent. After all, a precedent is being created. A new mechanism of prohibitions is being tested. A completely innocent one. No politics. The artistic level is low. That’s the full stop. Perhaps tomorrow, to recognize the "low artistic level" of an event or even of a musician’s performance, they will invite professors from the Belarusian State Academy of Music. Really famous and respected in the music world. And they will vote as they should, because they will not want to lose their job just before the pension...

They are after me today, and will be after you tomorrow. I say this to my brothers in trade. And to everyone else I wish the highest artistic level at musical events!
