The preparation for the military exercises West-2017 is coming to the end.

The preparation for the Belarusian-Russian exercises West-2017 is coming to the end, from August 15 military units from Russia will start to arrive in Belarus to work out logistical and technical support issues, the Belarusian Defense Ministry informed interfax.by.

"The planned preparation for the joint exercises of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation West-2017 is coming to its final stage," – the ministry informs.

They add that on August 21 - 25, 2017, joint special exercises with the military command and control agencies, formations, military units and logistical and technical support for the armed forces of the two countries will be held as a preliminary part of the West-2017 exercises.

The Ministry of Defense informs that starting from August 15, military units and subunits from the Russian part of the regional group of forces will start to arrive in Belarus as military troops to create real-world training conditions and to carry out process-oriented training the forces and facilities of logistical and technical support during the exercises.

The Belarusian and Russian military intend to practice a number of logistical and technical support operations.

"The issues of technical protection of facilities on the assigned sections of the military roads, evacuation, repair of malfunctional equipment and weapons, the deployment of the field trunk pipeline and mass refueling of equipment will be worked out in practice," – the Ministry of Defense summarized.

We remind that on September 8, a preventive rally against the joint Russian-Belarusian exercises West-2017, after which the military contingent of the Russian Federation may stay in Belarus as occupation units, will be held on Kastrychnitskaya Square in Minsk.
