A mural to commemorate the victims of political repressions appeared in one of the central streets in Brest on the Remebrance Day, a reader reported to the Charter97.org website.
81 years ago, on October 29, 1937, over a hundred prominent figures of the Belarusian culture were shot dead in Minsk. This is a black date in our history. A young poet Ales Dudar was among the executed.
An extract of his poem “They Cut Down Our Homeland” remains timely till now.
