Edward Balanchuk managed to replace the star on several trees of the city.
The "Kremlin" star was replaced by the Bethlehem one on the main Christmas tree in Maladzechna. There's a star like that in Old Town Square.
This was stated by the representative of the human rights organization "Belarusian Helsinki Committee" for Maladzechna district, human rights activist Edward Balanchuk.
- Lavon Tsimokhin, a local historian, told me about the five-pointed star on the Christmas tree on Central Square. On December 17, I went to the District Executive Committee to remove the ruby "Kremlin" star. The five-pointed star is not a Christian symbol and violates the rights of believers who celebrate Christmas. Instead, the star of Bethlehem is now installed. I would like to thank the Deputy Chairman of the Maladzechna District Executive Committee, Alesya Lukovskaya, for her contribution.
Balanchuk noticed that the star of Bethlehem also found its place on Old Town Square.

That's how the main Christmas tree looks like now.
