Lukashenka Is In Panic, He Acts Spontaneously And Chaotically
MIKALAI STATKEVICH

The pretender cannot accept the fact that the Belarusians have put him in his place.

Lukashenka is losing the information war and, like every panicking person, is acting spontaneously and chaotically. Belarusian National Congress leader Mikalai Statkevich stated that to Charter97.org, commenting on the resignation of the regime’s main propagandists:

– It is primarily connected to the feeling of growing unpopularity of Lukashenka's regime in Belarusian society.

This is the result of the shock that the authorities felt after the tradition of holding mass street rallies returned to Belarus. I mean the marches of disgruntled Belarusians in 2017.

When Lukashenka saw the entire degree of rejecting his regime, he fell into a panic. The consequence of this panic was the repression on the eve and on Freedom Day on March 25 last year, but, on the other hand, Decree No. 3 was cancelled. Like every panicking person, Lukashenka is acting spontaneously and chaotically.

The pretender cannot accept the fact that the Belarusians have put him in his place. He continues to "promote" his absolutely inadequate idea of collecting money from the unemployed – instead of helping socially unprotected people.

The dictator is out of touch with the real world and is preparing to put into operation the mechanism for collecting taxes from the unemployed – this time, by decree No. 1, in the form of payment for social services.

It is clear that he is afraid of the peaceful festive procession on March 25, and the independent media’s information about his "politics."

Therefore, the Charter-97 site was blocked, the site of the REP trade union was hacked, and before that the Belarusian Partisan site had been blocked. The Minister of Information started talking about control over social networks.

But it didn’t seem to fit: the regime was still losing the information war. Therefore, Lukashenka decided to "upgrade" the traditional means of propaganda. The old propagandists were considered not modern enough. The guys could not cope: they could not muffle the voice of dissatisfied Belarusians.

The naivety of Lukashenka is simply ridiculous: he still believes that if Sovetskaya Belorussiya publishes some kind of a leading article, everyone will start listening to him again.

But it will not happen. The times of the regime’s propagandists have passed. And if their master continues to put pressure on the people, introducing taxes for the unemployed or in another way, people will put him back in place. It’s better for Lukashenka to calm down and leave Belarusians alone – the sooner, the better for him.
