The Belarusian Association of Journalists will join the hearing in the Minsk City Court.
In February, Vitsebsk human rights activist Pavel Levinau sued the Ministry of Information of Belarus in connection with the blocking of the Charter'97 website.
In the lawsuit, the Vitsebsk human rights activist notes that the blocking of the information resource violates his right to receive information and is an unacceptable restriction of freedom of thought and expression, the BAJ website says.
On February 8, the Central District Court denied Levinau an action on his lawsuit in connection with alleged "non-jurisdiction of the case to the court".
Now Pavel Levinau appeals this decision at the Minsk City Court. The hearing will take place on Thursday, March 29 at 5 pm.
At the hearing, the position of the public will be expressed by the NGO "Belarusian Association of Journalists" - this procedure is provided for in Article 78 of the Civil and Procedural Code.
The position of the NGO "Belarusian Association of Journalists" at this hearing is unambiguous: the state body has limited the citizen's right to receive information from the Charter'97 website, so the citizen should have the right to appeal this decision.
