Charter-97 opens even in Strasbourg.

On April 25, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe discussed the situation with freedom of speech in Belarus. The MEPs reminded Belarusian "deputies" about the blocking of the Charter97.org website in Belarus.

However, the chairman of the commission on human rights and the media of the "house of representatives," Andrei Naumovich, didn’t come in nowhere. As a "proof" that any information was accessible to the Belarusians without any restrictions, he suggested to his colleagues from PACE to experience it first-hand... without leaving Strasbourg, Euroradio reports.

"Somehow I do not always understandб how come that today citizens of the Republic of Belarus do not get enough information in the Republic of Belarus. Dear colleagues, if you leave this oval hall today after our meeting, turn on the computer – you will be able to access any information on any sites that are currently present in the Republic of Belarus. Charter, Euroradio, Radio Svaboda, tut.by, Partizan, BelaPAN – open and read what you like! And that's why I somehow do not understand these remarks, which we sometimes hear today," – Andrei Naumovich said in Strasbourg.

We remind, that on January 24, the largest independent news site Charter-97 was blocked in Belarus.
