The last time the Belarusian dictator and the head of the Kremlin met was in Moscow on July 15.

Putin and Lukashenka discussed a possible meeting in Sochi on the phone. According to Lukashenka’s press-center, the Russian leader invited the Belarusian colleague to visit Russia.

The telephone conversation took place on Monday, July 23, on the initiative of the Russian side.

"Putin invited Aliaksandr Lukashenka to visit Russia in the near future. A possible meeting of the two leaders, during which it is planned to discuss in detail the full range of bilateral relations, may take place in Sochi," - the press-center informs. However, the date of the possible visit is not specified.

Putin and Lukashenka discussed the Russian-American relations, including the outcome of the recent talks between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Helsinki. The Russian leader informed Lukashenka about the nuances of the meeting.

The focus of the conversation was on arms control and the extension of the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (New START) between Russia and the United States, which expires in February 2021.

The last time Aliaksandr Lukashenka and Vladimir Putin met was in Moscow on July 15. The meeting was informal - Lukashenka arrived in Moscow at the invitation of the Russian president for the closing ceremony of the football World Cup-2018.
