Iryna Khalip Fined $182

The famous journalist has been tried for "expressing her own opinion".

Iryna Khalip, a well-known Belarusian journalist, one of the leaders of the European Belarus civil campaign, has been summoned to Partysanski district court in Minsk today, Charter97.org reports.

The trial began at 10.00. The journalist is being tried under Article 23.34 of the Administrative Code - for "public expression of her attitude to the upcoming "elections," expressed at the legal, held in the framework of the official campaign, Meeting of Free People at Freedom Square in Minsk, November 15.

Iryna Khalip was fined 15 basic units ($182.1).
