Kyiv, Vilnius and New York Held Pickets in Defense of Independence of Belarus

Representatives of the Belarusian diaspora draw the world's attention to the situation in our country.

About fifty people gathered near the Russian embassy in Kyiv to protest against the annexation of Belarus. Solidarity movement "Razam" organized the protest, Radio Racyja reports.

Representatives of the Ukrainian and Belarusian public associations and movements participated in the action.

"Russia's seizure of Belarus will cause catastrophic consequences in the Baltic States and Poland. It threatens Ukraine as well. We think there should be a reaction of the government, the president, the Verkhovna Rada," said Deputy Head of the All-Ukrainian Association "Freedom" Yurko Sirotyuk. He urged Belarusians not to be afraid and take to protests against "further integration" with Russia.

Pickets against the "integration" of Belarus and Russia were also held today in New York and Vilnius.

In New York, representatives of the Belarusian diaspora came to the building of the United Nations at lunchtime to attract as many people as possible.

In Vilnius, representatives of the diaspora picketed the Embassy of Belarus.
