Defender Of Kurapaty Fined For Flag And “Long Live Belarus!”

The Maskouski district court of Minsk fined defender of Kurapaty Dzianis Urbanovich 1147.5 rubles, Radio Svaboda reports.

According to two protocols drawn up against the activist, which the court agreed with, he was guilty of disorderly conduct and insubordination to the legitimate demands of the police. Dzianis Urbanovich pleaded not guilty to both violations.

In the evening of March 25, Dzianis Urbanovich, during a watch in Kurapaty, came to the territory of the Let's Go Get Some Eats restaurant with a white-red-white flag and shouted “Long Live Belarus” several times. According to Dzianis Urbanovich, he congratulated the staff and visitors of the restaurant on the 101st anniversary of the BPR. However, employees of the restaurant perceived the act of the activist as hooliganism and called the police. Let's Go Get Some Eats restaurant director Sviatlana Dubkova testified that in court. When the police arrived, according to a witness-policeman, Dzianis Urbanovich refused to “move on to draw up a report.”

Young Front leader Dzianis Urbanovich has been repeatedly fined and imprisoned for participating in the picketing in Kurapaty, and he has been also hit by the cars of restaurant visitors.
