Acquainted With Padabed, Pauliuchenka And Utsiuryn: What Is Known About New Minister Of Internal Affairs
DZMITRY PAULIUCHENKA (LEFT) AND YURY KARAYEU

Journalists have collected information about Yury Karayeu.

Aliaksandr Lukashenka appointed Yury Karayeu Minister of Internal Affairs. Until recently, he worked as Deputy Interior Minister - Commander of the Interior Ministry of Belarus, Belsat reports.

Traditionally, the Minister of Internal Affairs was born not in Belarus, but in one of the former Soviet Union countries. Yury Karayev was born in the capital of North Ossetia, Ordzhonikidze (now Vladikavkaz), on June 21, 1966.

Yury Karayeu graduated from the Saratov Military Institute of the Interior Ministry in 1987. In 1996, he graduated from the Frunze General Staff Academy.

His acquaintanceship with Padabed, Pauliuchenka and Utsiuryn

Prior to his transfer to Minsk, Karayeu headed the military unit 5527 in Babruisk, then 5525 in Homel. These units are a police battalion and a brigade.

In 2008, Yury became the successor of Padabed as a commander of Minsk riot police, but three months after his appointment he was transferred to the unit 3214 in Uruchcha, which was previously headed by Dzmitry Pauliuchenka. Here Yury Karayeu met with former head of the Lukashenka security service Andrei Utsiuryn, who is now behind bars. It turned out that Karayeu had graduated from the same educational institution as the head of the security service of Lukashenka, one of the most mysterious security officers of the country Andrei Utsiuryn - both of them graduated from the Saratov Military Command School. Karayeu - in 1987 and Utsiuryn - in 1992. Later they met in military unit 3214. Together they took the test for the right to wear a crimson beret. A photo is known, which probably captures both Karayeu and Utsiuryn. However, it is not easy to identify them.

The work in the ministry

In 2009, Karayeu was appointed First Deputy Head of Operational and Combat Training of Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus. And in December 2012, he became the head of the internal troops.

Yury Karayeu was often on duty at the so-called "direct lines," held by the Interior Ministry. He also commented on pressing issues.

The security community notes that Karayeu had friendly relations with Ihar Shunevich.
