The authorities plan to expand the list of animals to be identified and registered.

Fowl, fish and fur animals in Belarus will be included in the list of animals to be identified, registered and traceable, nn.by writes.

As Angela Borshch, the director of the Center for Information Systems in Animal Farming, told journalists today, changes to the existing legislation may be introduced in November.

"At the moment we register five types of animals: cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, horses. The new law will add new animals - fur-bearing animals, rabbits, birds, fish and other hydrobionts," Angela Borsch said.

At present, all the cattle, sheep, goats, horses and pigs in the cattle-breeding facilities of Belarus have been identified and registered in the state information system.
