The Quote of Kalinowski Against Town Planning Project in Kalodzishchy

"Not people for the government, but the government for people."

A presentation of the new site plan of the agro-town was held with posters, screams in Kalodzishchy. The town planning project raised many questions among locals. The authorities failed to answer all of them, writes realt.by.

The project development was carried out by BelNIIgradstroitelstvo. The customer is the Minsk District Executive Committee.

According to the project, the population of the agro-town should increase from the current 17.6 thousand to 43.3 thousand people. This will be mainly stipulated by the construction of multi-storey houses for large families.

It is planned to build up some wastelands and "reserve lands", which residents consider to be a forest.

Meanwhile, the number of places in kindergartens will not grow as rapidly as the number of residents. Thus, pre-school education institutions should have 1380 places until 2030, while already now there are 1118 children of preschool age living in Kalodzishchy.

The locals note that compared to the previous project, there will be much less social facilities there. For example, apartment buildings will replace a stadium, kindergarten and school.

Many species from the Red Book that have settled in the local pond may also be at risk.

That's why residents were arguing with the developers of the new project. They made special posters, including the famous quote of Kastus Kalinowski: "Not people for the government, but the government for people". But some questions remained unanswered.
