At 11.30 Koktysh wrote that unknown people came to the editorial office of Narodnaya Volya without documents, did not introduce themselves, and that they wanted to confiscate the entire current circulation of the newspaper. The driver who brought the newspaper was detained, as well as two volunteers.
Later, Koktysh added that riot police had arrived at the editorial office.
- The riot police took the entire circulation. Right now. No papers or explanations. No papers at all, no grounds, they just came and took everything that was there, - wrote the journalist of the newspaper.
Newspaper Narodnaya Volya, as well as three other non-state print media - BelGazeta, Komsomolskaya Pravda in Belarus, and Svobodnye Novosti Plus - has not been printed since the third decade of August by the state printing house Belorussky Press House (formal reason - equipment breakdown) and is not distributed by subscription and retail by Belpost and Belsoyuzpechat, also owned by the state.
The weeklies BelGazeta and Svobodnye Novosti Plus are now published in electronic format. Komsomolskaya Pravda and Narodnaya Volya are published in Dolgoprudny (Moscow Region). Komsomolskaya Pravda, the circulation of which has fallen 5-10 times, is distributed through the editorial office and large stores. Narodnaya Volya kept the circulation, it is distributed only through the editorial board.
In addition, these publications are not included in the Belpost subscription catalogue for the first half of 2021.
