The Largest Importer of Potash Fertilizers Presented an Ultimatum to Belaruskali

The violation of the miners' right to strike was the reason for the revision of contracts and further cooperation.

The management of the Norwegian company Yara demanded that the general director of Belaruskali clarify the situation about the repressions and dismissals of workers who supported the strike.

The largest importer of potash fertilizers, the Norwegian company Yara, announces the revision of its relations with Belaruskali. This became known to the strike committee of the enterprise.

"The management of the Norwegian company got in touch with the general director of JSC Belaruskali Ivan Halavaty and demanded to clarify the situation about the repressions and dismissals of workers who supported the strike," the strike committee reported.

The strike committee has repeatedly appealed to the main importer, providing facts about reprisals against employees of the enterprise who openly express their civil position.

- All members of the strike are under unprecedented pressure - fines, imprisonment. Family members were at risk. Some were evicted from rental housing along with small children. Searches are carried out in some apartments, and people receive threats to remove their children from their families. The Yara company representative said that the revealed facts were the reason for reviewing contracts and further cooperation with Belaruskali, the strike committee noted.

There is information that General Director Ivan Halavaty, in a conversation with partners, refused to confirm the facts provided.

As a reminder, on November 13, during an excursion to the national hero Kosciuszko's homeland, members of the strike and residents of Salihorsk were detained, after which more than 40 people were convicted and received punishment in the form of fines and imprisonment.

"General Director Halavaty refuses to enter into dialogue with representatives of the strike committee and tries to put pressure on them through the internal affairs bodies," the strike committee noted.

At present, the strike committee of JSC Belaruskali unites more than 90 employees of the association.

Over the past 24 hours, the republican strike was joined by the mechanic-repairman of the 4RU of OJSC Belaruskali Aliaksandr Kuushynau and the electric locksmith of the 3RU Andrei Stseshyts , as well as another worker of this mine administration Dzmitry Yakubovich.

Representatives of Salihorsk Stroytrest No. 3 OJSC Kiryl Ketska, Uladzimir Makarau, Artsem Miatselski, employee of NPO Passat LLC (Salihorsk) Aliaksei Tsviatkou, motor builder from the Minsk Motor Plant Raman Kuvashou, Larysa Shaniuk (BMZ), railway worker Maksim Azarka (BelZhD), and others also joined the strike.
