This morgue accepts the dead only from the capital hospitals.

Yesterday, the “Basta!” Telegram channel received an audio record of a telephone conversation between two doctors. An ambulance doctor from Minsk says that about 60 corpses of patients who died of COVID-19 are daily delivered to the morgue of the City Clinical Pathological and Anatomical Bureau, located in Siamashka Street, 8.

The channel decided not to publish the record until checking the data that is voiced in it.

Today, the channel’s reporters spoke with an employee of the crematorium located in the Northern Cemetery of Minsk. He partially confirmed the information.

“About 30 corpses come to us per day. Now most of them are definitely “COVID”, because they are either in packages or in closed coffins, arrive mostly at night. I know that some of the dead are buried in villages. In Minsk, burying of those who died of the coronavirus is completely prohibited, only cremation. If relatives have the opportunity, and they are against cremation, then, of course, they’ll take the body to bury it in their native village, for example.

Many deceased have no relatives. Homeless people, lonely elderly people, prisoners. They are all taken to us, of course,” he said.

Below is the transcript of part of the audio recording of the telephone conversation between two doctors. The record also contained personal data of some people that the journalists deleted.

“I worked today with a driver who works for us at a ritual agency,” an ambulance employee says. “He knows all the morgues, everything else. He says that in the last month, 60 COVID corpses have been delivered to the morgue in Siamashka Street from hospitals every day. Only the morgue in Siamashka Street. This morgue always accepts bodies only from hospitals. That is, they first go there, and only then - to the crematoriums, cemeteries. Can you imagine what the actual daily numbers are?”
