Date Of Imposing EU Sanctions Against Lukashenka's Regime Is Given

The lists of officials responsible for falsification and violence against citizens are to be expanded.

The European Union sanctions against Belarusian officials and law enforcement officers responsible for election fraud and violence against citizens will come into force no later than September 21, Czech Foreign Minister Tomáš Petříček said. He also said that the list of persons on whom the EU imposes sanctions will be expanded, zn.ua reports with reference to TASS.

"I believe that the EU sanctions will come into force no later than September 21. Initially, the sanctions list included 20 persons responsible for manipulation during elections and use of force against protesters. We are again witnessing the ill-treatment of peaceful demonstrators, so we can expand this list in the coming days," - the Czech Foreign Minister said on Sunday, September 6.

Sanctions against Lukashenka's regime are introduced not only by the European Union, but also by individual EU states: Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Sanctions lists of the Baltic states include Lukashenka himself, who has been declared persona non grata in these countries.
