Valery Karbalevich: Lukashenka Is Not Exactly in the Position Today to Quarrel with Putin
Valery Karbalevich

A black cat ran between Moscow and Minsk.

Political scientist Valery Karbalevich analyzed the aggravation of relations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Lukashenka.

- Lukashenka is measuring swords with Vladimir Putin. Covid dissidence of the Belarusian leader is demonstrative behavior, - Valery Karbalevich said on the air of Echo of Moscow. - Unfortunately, this line leads to the fact that the number of cases of covid does not decrease.

The political scientist explains what, in his opinion, caused the change in the mood of the official Minsk in relation to the Kremlin.

- Recently, it is obvious that a black cat has run between Moscow and Minsk. Here is the story of Komsomolskaya Pravda in Belarus. And the fact that Putin did not come to Minsk for the EAEU summit, although he promised. Moreover, none of the leaders came after him. And this is a very strong blow for Lukashenka because the summit was supposed to demonstrate that there is no international isolation. And then there was such a bummer. Hence such a negative reaction from the official Minsk.

The first criterion and assessment of how big a black cat ran between the official Minsk and the Kremlin is the question of whether a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the "union state" will take place on November 4.

Second, if it takes place, will 28 allied programs be approved, will the placement of two Russian military facilities on the territory of the Republic of Belarus be approved. Because recently there was a joint collegium of the defense ministries of the two countries, and we see disagreements. Shoigu says the ministers signed the agreement. And, according to the Belarusian version, the ministers only discussed this agreement. There are many nuances, and I think we will receive some answers on November 4, although, of course, Lukashenka today is not exactly in the position to quarrel with Putin,” Karbalevich believes.

- As for the latest (anti-Russian) statements of the Belarusian propaganda, it should be borne in mind that Belarusian television is a special television. All over the world, TV channels are trying to work for ratings, for the number of consumers, the quality of programs depends on this, and much more. Belarusian television works differently. The ratings are not important to it, but the assessment of one "most important" viewer is important, - Karbalevich said.
