Journalists will publish data on them.
An international consortium of investigative journalists ICIJ has published Pandora Archive. It reveals the involvement of several world leaders in offshore schemes. 138 companies on the list are linked to citizens of Belarus. In total, there are more than 27,000 companies in the database.
The authors claim this investigation is "bigger and more global" than the Panama Papers made public in 2016, which caused grave repercussions. They argue that the Pandora Archive shows that the offshore money machine is at work in every corner of the world, including the world's largest democracies.
The text notes the offshore dealings of more than 100 billionaires, 35 world leaders and 400 government officials have been uncovered. Journalists call the incident the largest offshore data leak in history.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, King Abdullah II ibn Hussein of Jordan, Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš are among those involved. A number of high-ranking Russians are also named.
