The Belarusian told how he made his choice.
The telegram channel of the Belarusian Workers' Association (BOR) shared the opinion of one of its subscribers, who joined the national strike:
“I would like to say a few words to all Belarusians. I have been on strike for the 3rd day, and this is the most exciting thing that happened to me.
I was just like everyone else, and I didn’t care about politics, I was not an active trade unionist, and I didn’t have a chance to become a boss either. But in the last year, no one can be indifferent.
So I took a step. To tell you the truth, it's very frightening to go out on the square, I don't want to get my head bashed in, but staying at home is a good option. I don't have to do anything for that, I just turn off the alarm clock and then the phone.
I made a choice. Workers of Belarus, now it's your turn! We all must do everything to save Belarus! How long can you wait?! What else do you need? Who else needs to be killed and imprisoned? Maybe it's already enough to look for excuses? Are our girls more courageous than men?
I do not regret that I stayed at home, and I will not regret it! I am free, I have no ropes on my hands and a chain around my neck. I'm a free person! I want every Belarusian to become free. And I really look forward to you doing the same.
If this time we do nothing, then no one will lift a finger later at all. And you know what? I will go abroad with peace of mind. And all those who go to work and then, when get fired or, God forbid, some of their relatives are imprisoned, will start to resent, talk about injustice, about the fact that something needs to be done, will be worthy of all this shit! After that, there will be no one to go out for you! After - there is no future.
Therefore, right now we must all change Belarus and return our homeland into our hands! Let's break the blue fingers!
Stay home!
Strike, Belarus!"
