Lithuanian-Belarusian Border: Military On High Alert Before Holidays

Provocations by the regime continue.

The Lithuanian Interior Ministry warns that the Belarusian regime is testing vigilance. That is why, during the holidays, Lithuanian border guards will work more intensively on the border with Belarus.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the RAP.

"During the holiday season, officers will be on high alert and the border will be guarded in tight regime," said Deputy Minister of the Interior of Lithuania Kęstutis Lančinskas.

According to him, it is necessary to be prepared for all scenarios of attempts to illegally cross the border. However, he also stressed that the situation on the Lithuanian-Belarusian border remains stable.

"But it is obvious that the Belarusian regime is testing the vigilance and readiness of the officers," said the politician.

He also claims that the change in the nature of violent attacks on the Polish border is worrisome. The Deputy Minister pointed out that the Belarusian special services train migrants.

Earlier, the Seimas of Lithuania voted for a government proposal to continue the state of emergency on the border with Belarus, imposed because of the threat of mass illegal border crossing. The state of emergency will be valid until January 24, 2022.
