Sentence Of Swiss citizen Natalia Hersche Left Unchanged

The Swiss authorities insist on her immediate release.

On February 16, the Minsk City Court considered the appeal against the sentence of Natalia Hersche, a citizen of Belarus and Switzerland. The decision of the Savetski district court of Minsk was left unchanged, Nasha Niva reports.

Hersche asked to allow her to participate in the meeting and undergo testing by polygraph. These petitions were rejected.

In December 2020, 51-year old Natalia Hersche was found guilty of resisting a police officer: when being arrested at the rally on September 19, she pulled off the balaclava of riot policeman. Natalia was sentenced to 2.5 years in jail. The woman pleaded not guilty of participating in the unsanctioned event and causing bodily harm.
