“Brothers and sisters, believers of the Catholic Church in Belarus, compatriots!

On the morning of May 11, a fire broke out in the National Sanctuary of the Mother of God of Budslau, as a result of which the church in Budslau, the main Mary shrine of our Fatherland, was severely damaged. This misfortune caused great pain in the hearts of the sons and daughters of the church in Belarus. With God's help, the Holy Sacrament and the miraculous icon of the Mother of God of Budslau were saved, but the church building itself was badly damaged.

We, the Catholic bishops of Belarus, call on all believers with prayer and all possible help to join together in the restoration of the shrine in Budslau, built by our ancestors with great love for God and His Most Holy Mother.

May the Mother of God of Budslau help us quickly restore her house in Budslau. May our Blessed Mother and Patroness of Belarus continue to patronize our Motherland, churches in Belarus and all of us, may she save and protect us from all evil and lead to her son.
