The statistics were falsified to hide the real scope of the problem.

The statistics of the Ministry of Health of Belarus on COVID-19 did not correspond to reality, anesthesiologist-resuscitator Ihar Tabolich, who worked in a hospital in Minsk with patients with coronavirus, told Deutsche Welle.

"The death toll in one of our hospitals matched the official numbers across the country," he says.

According to him, elderly patients in intensive care denied the presence or danger of coronavirus, as Aliaksandr Lukashenka assured of this. "Some did not comply with quarantine measures, visited elderly relatives, after which they had to bury them," says Ihar Tabolich.

"When a person died from COVID-19, we made it the second diagnosis. We, in principle, were forbidden to put it as the first," the doctor said.
