It is impossible to change the trend of becoming a European Belarusian decent state.
Belarusian poet and politician Uladzimir Niakliayeu gave a big interview to Zhizn-Malina Youtube-project. Uladzimir Niakliaeu believes that Belarusians still have the protest potential and that it is impossible to change the trend of becoming a European Belarusian decent state, Salidarnasts reports.
- I was also impressed and happy that everything I saw in the streets and squares was real. I am very grateful to all the people who took those odds and made it happen. A revolution of consciousness has taken place. The consciousness has changed, not only of those who came out with white-red-white flags, but also of those who were standing opposite them. They just can't show it now, but it's true. And this process is now irreversible.
Their struggle now is only slowing things down and causing problems. But it is no longer possible to change this movement or re-direct it. One can chop it up, destroy someone personally, but the very trend of becoming a European Belarusian decent state is impossible to change, - the political activist says.
He is sure that the protest potential remains in Belarus, and he suggests what may happen in the near future.
- The dictatorship will not stand it, they are fighting for nothing. I would like it to be over this year, but I do not see what can happen in the near future to stimulate this explosion. There has to be a detonator. Economic triggers are usually the first ones to appear in such situations. Let's say there is nothing to eat, as it was the case in 1991, when the workers came out.
However, with Russia's attitude as it is now, I don't think there can be a situation where workers may not get paid. So something else has to happen, and I feel intuitively that something will happen.
