Luxembourg Foreign Minister: My Wish Is for Lukashenka to Answer before the International Court of Justice

Jean Asselborn also hopes the sanctions will bring the Cockroach regime to its knees.

Luxembourg Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn said that he expects an international trial of Aliaksandr Lukashenka. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

“The European Union has shown what it can do if it wants to. Otherwise, it would be a disaster; of course, we are clearly showing that Stalinism and state terror no longer have a place in the 21st century,” Jean Asselborn said in Brussels during a meeting of the EU Foreign Ministers.

According to him, the new sanctions on Belarus adopted by the European Union will be "painful and, I hope, so painful that they will bring the regime to its knees."

“My wish is - we cannot decide this - that, one day, Lukashenka will answer before the International Court of Justice for the suffering he inflicted on the people,” Aselborn added.
