Pensions in Belarus: What Changes from August 18 and for Whom

It became known that changes are being made in the country according to the data for the appointment of pensions to citizens.

In Belarus, the procedure for assessing the reliability of the information on labor activity and wages for the appointment of pensions is being revised. Thus, the Ministry of Labor of Belarus specified the procedure for assessing information on labor activity and wages of Belarusians. We are talking about information provided by employers for assigning pensions to Belarusians. Detailed information was reported on the website of the National Legal Internet Portal of Belarus, writes kp.by.

It is reported that, in Belarus, the assessment of such information, according to Resolution No. 49, is carried out by employees of the committee for labor, employment, and social protection of the regional executive committees, as well as the Minsk city executive committee. The document dated June 25, 2021, comes into force on Wednesday, August 18.

Also, the assessment of these data will be carried out by employees of departments for labor, employment, and social protection of city executive committees (except for cities of district subordination), district executive committees, and departments of social protection of local administrations of urban areas.

The assessment will be made after the specialists have studied the primary documents provided by the employer. The head of the committee or department or a person authorized by him will decide whether to evaluate the information.

The decision will be drawn up in the prescribed form in two copies, one of which will be stored in the committee, and the second will be sent to the employer within 5 days after the decision is made.

In addition, the employees conducting the assessment may give the employer a request for additional information and receive the right to visit the employer and enter the employer's territory.

After the end of the assessment, within 5 days, an act of assessing the reliability of information about labor activity and salary provided by the employer for the appointment of pensions is drawn up.

What will happen if violations are detected?

If there are any violations, then an order is also issued within 5 days to eliminate them. And if they are eliminated within the prescribed period, then no liability will be applied to the employer.

Sanctions will be applied if:

- the identified violations will not be eliminated in time;

- they find repeated violations;

- they find violations that cannot be eliminated.

The resolution of the Ministry of Labor comes into force after its official publication.
