Us Imposed Large-Scale Sanctions against the Lukashenka Regime

The sanctions will affect the defense sector, energy, transport, and Lukashenka's businessmen.
The United States is introducing the largest package of sanctions against the Lukashenka regime to date, which targets the country's national Olympic committee and one of the world's largest producers of mineral fertilizers, Belaruskali, the White House said.
“The US Treasury Department is initiating the largest round of sanctions to date against individuals and legal entities in Belarus within the framework of Decree 13405 and Decree of August 9, 2021,” the press release says.
In addition to the Olympic Committee, accused of facilitating money laundering, and Belaruskali, one of the country's largest exporters, well-known entrepreneurs who support the Lukashenka regime and 15 companies affiliated with them fell under the sanctions.
Other persons involved in the sanctions lists include construction, tobacco, energy, and transportation companies.
According to a decree signed by Biden, which was issued by the White House, the restrictions will affect persons who “work or have worked in the defense or related sectors, the energy sector, the potash production sector, the tobacco production sector, and the construction and transport sectors of the Belarusian economy.”

Among the individuals who have come under the US sanctions are large businessmen and representatives of Belarusian state-owned companies Aliaksei Aleksin, Andrei Bunakou, Leanid Churo, and others.
