“Bear Force” in Support of Belarus Returns

The popular American satirical show launched an action in support of change in our country.

The new episode of the American evening show Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, broadcast on HBO, is almost entirely devoted to the situation in Belarus.

In particular, the program recalled the action "Bear Force."

Let us remind you that, on July 4, 2012, Swedish pilots dropped about a thousand teddy bears with slogans in support of freedom of speech over the territory of Belarus.

Risking their lives, employees of the Swedish advertising agency Studio Total Thomas Masetti, Per Cromwell, and Hannah Frey flew into Europe's last dictatorship to support the persecuted independent journalists here.

The fearlessness of the Swedes shocked the world. At any moment, their small light aircraft could be shot down. Fortunately, the flight was successful. Desperate daredevils dropped hundreds of teddy bears over Minsk and Ivianets with notes: “In support of freedom of speech in Belarus.”

Swedish pilots won the 2012 Charter'97 National Human Rights Prize.

The American show has prepared special teddy bears, which it offers to purchase on the website belarusbearforce.com for $ 20. All the proceeds are promised to be donated to organizations that fight for press freedom and human rights in Belarus.
