First Sentence For Comment On Zeltser Case Delivered

A Mahiliou resident was sentenced to two years of imprisonment in a penal colony, and a fine.

The Prosecutor General's Office announced the sentence for the 45-year-old resident of Mahiliou. He posted a "negative comment about the KGB officer" who died in a shootout with IT specialist Andrei Zeltser, which took place on Yakubouski Street in Minsk on September 29, nashaniva.com writes.

The resident of Mahiliou was sentenced to 2 years in a general regime colony and a fine of 3,200 rubles.

About 200 people were detained in the "Zeltser case" in late September - early October.

For a month and a half they were kept in quarantine: lawyers were not allowed to see them, and no parcels were passed.
