Aliaksandra Herasimenia: If Ukraine Is Free, Belarus Will Become Free Too
ALIAKSANDRA HERASIMENIA

The famous athlete appealed to Belarusians, Ukrainians and Russians.

"Two old dictators, Putin and Lukashenka, for the sake of retaining their sole authority, may at any moment launch a bloody fratricidal war against Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. Now this is the most important danger for all of us".

This statement was made by the famous Belarusian sportswoman, two-time world champion, multiple Olympic medalist, director of the Sports Solidarity Fund Aliaksandra Herasimenia. That's how she commented on the difficult military and political situation in our region.

Herasimenia addressed to Belarusians, Ukrainians and Russians. She expressed concern about the large number of Russian troops arriving in Belarus under the pretext of joint military exercises.

"As long as the Russian army is on the territory of Belarus, we can talk about the actual occupation of Belarus. The sovereignty of Belarus has already been lost, coward and liar Lukashenka has finally given away Belarus. We, Belarusians, must recognize it today and start immediately a campaign in defense of independence and peace," she urged.

Herasimenia believes that the Belarusian diaspora can play a crucial role in this process, as it has "intellectual, informational and material resources to liberate our homeland".

On behalf of the athletes and the Belarusian Sports Solidarity Foundation, she expresses support to the Ukrainian people and informs of its readiness to do everything possible to protect the freedom and independence of Ukraine.

"If Ukraine is free, Belarus will also be free. Everything depends only on us and our actions," Herasymenia states.

She calls on the Belarusians, Ukrainians and Russians to unite to prevent the war. She also deems it necessary to express support to the brotherly Ukrainian people who have always stood up for freedom and independence of Belarus.
