'Why 90% Are Altaians?': Russia Federation Region Rebels Against Mobilisation

Indigenous peoples have suspected "something wrong".

Despite claims of suspension, Russia's "partial" mobilisation of men for the war against Ukraine continues. Most of the mobilised conscripts are representatives of indigenous peoples inhabiting the territory of the Russian Federation.

This is reported by the press centre of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Strategic Communications Directorate. It is noted that this state of affairs causes dissatisfaction in the regions. In some places it has come to the point of riots.

"Under the guise of mobilization, a hidden genocide of indigenous peoples is taking place on the marshes. For example, in the Altai Republic, locals are outraged by the fact that 90% of conscripts are ethnic Altaians," the report says.
