Bellegprom's Head Explains Expensiveness Of Belarusian-Made Clothing

The official gave strange reasons.

The head of the Bellegprom JSC, Tatsiana Luhina, explained why clothes from Belarus cannot be relatively cheap.

She believes that Belarusian clothing "takes first place" in terms of price and quality. According to the head of Bellegprom, there is no home competition, and manufacturers of clothing, underwear and footwear should strive to increase their presence in the Belarusian market, reducing the number of imports.

She also added that Belarusian manufacturers provide a diverse selection of clothes: there are cheaper ones, and there are premium ones.

“But we don’t have relatively cheap products in general, because all the characteristics, in fabric, design and processing (technological units, operations), are of great quality” Luhina explained on the air of the Belarus 1 propaganda TV channel.

She emphasized that it is necessary to use more flax for processing into fabrics, because clothes made from this raw material are popular.

“Today's practice shows that no matter how much flaxen linen we sew, we sell it all. There is a demand on the market, especially for clothes that use 100% flaxen thin dyed linen,” said Luhina.
