McDonald's Begins To Remove Its Signs In Minsk

Within a few weeks, the chain of restaurants will change their name.

The koko_by blogger noticed that McDonald's and McCafe signs had been removed. We are talking about the McDonald's restaurant on 23 Sharangovicha Str.

"The era has gone… We will remember your triple cheeseburgers after Friday, smoky Big Tasty and double McMuffins with egg at 8 am on the way to the airport,” the blogger wrote. "The sign on 23 Sharangovich Street - wasted! The first McD to lower the flag."

Recall, recently it became known that McDonald's in Belarus is closing. Now the restaurants will operate under the name "Vkusno i Tochka", which translates as "Tasty and that's it". This should happen within a few weeks. The brand appeared in Russia in the summer of 2022, when McDonald's closed there. But the new fast food has not opened in all locations where McDonald's used to be. Formally, "Vkusno i Tochka" belongs to the Russian regional businessman Alexander Govor.

The Belarusian "McDonald's" is controlled by the company "KSB Victory Restaurants", which is led by an influential businessman from Kazakhstan Kairat Boranbaev. He was detained in Kazakhstan in the spring of 2022 on suspicion of stealing and sent to a pre-trial detention center. Boranbayev is a relative of Nursultan Nazarbayev.
