'More Than 500 Soldiers Lost Their Command': Russian Media Confirms Elimination of Mobilized Soldiers Near Makiivka

Russian officers left their soldiers for dead.

AFU fighters crushed an entire battalion of mobilized Russians near the village of Makiivka, Svatovsky district, Luhansk region. Only 29 out of 570 occupants survived.

Russian media also confirmed this information.

Nikolai Voronin, who was mobilized from the Voronezh region and also came under fire near Makiivka, confirmed to Verstka the information about the destruction of an entire battalion

"Everything Agafonov said was true. We were there all the time and dug trenches. There were a lot of victims. Dead bodies are in the fields; many guys lost their arms and legs. I can confirm it. There were only 32 of us when we moved to the last sector. Only 12 of us left it. All of us were wounded or shell-shocked. The whole battalion was sent together with Agafonov; we were near Makiivka on November 1-2. At night, we took positions; there were no shovels to dig trenches; we used bayonet-knives. At dawn, there were many dead bodies. I had perforating wound of my elbow; now I am being taken to hospital," Voronin said.

A relative of another occupant who was hit near Makiivka also contacted the newspaper:

- Ivan told his wife that he was near Valuiki on October 31. In the morning of November 1, they were taken to an undisclosed location. He has never been in touch since then.

Yesterday, another mobilized man who shared a room with Ivan during the exercises contacted his wife. He told that Ivan was with him and was alive. As far as I understand, there were about 500 people, but they lost their command. I don't know what kind of fight there was.

The guys who survived, about 30 people, tried to cross the border of the Belgorod region, but they couldn't. A local patrol discovered them. Then the mobilized men settled in a house. They are making a list of all the surviving mobilized men. The phone used to call this other mobilized person yesterday later fell into the hands of another military man. Later this number was unavailable.
