Daugavpils Mayor Involved In Scandal Over Banquet With Lukashists States About 'Russian Crimea'

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reacted to a statement made by the mayor of the Latvian city of Daugavpils, Andrei Elksninsh, that Crimea is part of Russia. These words "do not reflect either the official position of friendly Latvia or the views of the absolute majority of Latvians," the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's spokesman, Oleh Mykolenko, said.

We remind you that earlier Andrei Elksninsh was involved in a scandal because of his visit to the Lukashists' banquet on July 3. At that time, the Latvian State Security Service said that the participation of officials in the events organized by the aggressor country Russia and its ally Belarus is not in the interests of national security.
