The Kremlin is interested in establishing the work of the “grain initiative”.
Belarus has informed the UN that it will allow, without preconditions, the transit of grain from Ukraine through its territory for further export from Lithuanian ports.
At the same time, the official Minsk is asking for an opportunity to export its own sanctioned fertilizers, which are now under sanctions.
International analyst Boris Tizenhausen commented on the motivation of the regime in Belarus for Radio Racyja:
“Without coordination with Putin, this is hardly possible. Although the death of Foreign Minister Makei could put the squeeze on Lukashenka. He also sees that Erdogan makes good money on the grain agreement. He sees that Russia is losing. As soon as Russia loses, his regime is simply doomed.”
According to the expert, Russia is interested in establishing the work of the “grain initiative”, which, against the backdrop of the war, will actually receive permission to export its own ammonia through the same corridor that Ukraine now exports food.
