Legendary Snake Island Today

The island is controlled by the Ukrainian military from the International Legion.

Journalist of Donbass.Realii Roman Pahulich showed what the de-occupied Snake Island looks like now: all the buildings are destroyed, there is a lot of demolished Russian equipment and ammunition.

The journalist visited the de-occupied Snake Island in the summer — it was there that Russia made a “gesture of goodwill” for the first time after the full-scale invasion.

It is noted that the buildings on the island are mostly destroyed, a lot of Russian equipment was destroyed, including the Pantsir C1 air defense system, the Tor air defense complex, and fuel tankers. There is also ammunition left.

The island has been controlled by the Ukrainian military from the International Legion since the summer.

On June 30, Russian troops left Snake Island, after the liberation operation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Already on July 4, the Armed Forces of Ukraine officially announced that the military operation on Snake Island was completed, and the flag of Ukraine was installed on the territory of the island.
