Western Intelligence: A Russian Convoy Near Kyiv Could Become a "Big Fat Target" for the Ukrainian Military

The aggressor's troops stretched along narrow roads for many kilometers.

A convoy of hundreds of Russian tanks and other vehicles stretching 64 kilometers is approaching Kyiv, the Associated Press reports.

High-resolution satellite images taken by the U.S. Maxar Technologies show the convoy heading south toward the Ukrainian capital.

Maxar reported that the convoy was 25 kilometers long. The company later said that additional images indicated it was 64 kilometers long.

Russian occupants are stockpiling military equipment in the Kyiv region.

According to a senior Western intelligence official, the convoy huddled along narrow roads could become a "big fat target" for the Ukrainian military.

The convoy of vehicles was noticed to the east of the SE Antonov international airport in Gostomel, where fierce fighting between Ukrainian defenders and Russian occupiers has recently been taking place.

U.S. officials speculate that Kyiv will be besieged and fighting will then be in the city.
