Details of Belarusian Volunteer Dzmitry Apanasovich's Death in the Battle of Irpin Revealed

A Belarusian volunteer from Kalinouski battalion, Dzmitry Afanasovich, was killed in the battle near Irpin. This is what happened on that day.

On 24 March, Dzmitry came under artillery fire.

He jumped into a trench at his combat post to take cover, but a shell hit a house, and fragments ricocheted and hit him. He was immediately treated on the spot. His condition was serious but stable. There was an evacuation afterwards, and according to those who evacuated, he was handed over in a stable condition to the medics. But unfortunately, the injury was too serious and he could not survive," said an associate of Dmitry during the briefing.

It was reported that the Belarusian battalion destroyed three enemy vehicles in that battle.

Apanasovich was 32 years old. This is the third Belarusian to die defending Ukraine.

Kalinouski's battalion took part in combat operations in the area of Vasylkiv, in the operation on liberation of Bucha, and in the territorial defence of Kyiv.

In total, several hundred citizens of Belarus are currently fighting on the Ukrainian side in various formations.
