The Ukrainian military eliminated the commander of the Russian Airborne Assault Mountain Division of the Guards Major General Andrei Sukhovetsky.

Radio Svoboda confirmed that Major General Andrei Sukhovetsky, deputy commander of the 41st Combined Arms of the Central Military District of Russia, was killed during the war with Ukraine.

Sukhovetsky, 47 years old, was appointed deputy commander of the army in the fall of 2021. Before that, he had commanded the 7th Airborne Assault Division in Novorossiysk for three years. He graduated from Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School, the Frunze Military Academy and the General Staff Academy.
