Occupiers Blew Up Their APC And Then Burned Down Checkpoint In Sumy Region

What were the motives?

On March 29, Russian occupation troops organised a planned provocation in Sumy region. They blew up their APC to make a picture for the enemy propaganda.

After that, the invaders allegedly decided to take revenge. So they went and burned down a Ukrainian border checkpoint.

The head of the Sumy regional mlitary administration, Dmytro Zhyvitsky, told this in an address. He explained that the occupiers claimed: their armoured vehicle was allegedly "destroyed by the Ukrainians".

"This was a pre-planned provocation aimed at forming a picture for the Russian media. They burned a Ukrainian border checkpoint on the border with the Orks, allegedly to get revenge on the Ukrainians," Zhyvitsky said.

It is not known yet whether there were any casualties among the Ukrainian border guards. The official also added that an ammunition depot in Belgorod burned down on the same day. The official suggested that it was purposefully destroyed by local residents who do not want the war against Ukraine to continue.
