The Kremlin has sent two different groups to Kiev.
The Times reports that there have been at least three assassination attempts on Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky during the last week.
Two different groups were sent to assassinate the Ukrainian president - mercenaries of the pro-Kremlin Wagner group and Chechen special forces. Each time the assassination attempt failed thanks to Russian FSB officers who oppose the war with Ukraine, the newspaper said.
The Wagner mercenaries in Kiev suffered losses during their attempts and were concerned about how accurately the Ukrainians foresaw their actions. A source close to the group said the awareness of Zelensky's security service was "eerie" for them. Also on Saturday, an assassination attempt by a group of Chechen mercenaries on the outskirts of Kiev was prevented and they were liquidated.
