US May Hand Ukraine Missiles Capable of Striking at Russian Airfields

Statement by the Pentagon's Deputy Head.

The USA is ready to consider supplying Ukraine with medium-range weapons capable of striking at airfields on Russian territory.

US Undersecretary of Defence Kathleen Hicks stated this in a meeting with a group of military observers, the Voice of America reported.

"Yes, we will continue to consider the types of weapons that the Ukrainians are requesting - to add a little more range and distance," Hicks said responding to a question about whether Washington D.C. would be willing to explore the option of providing Kyiv with weapons potentially capable of hitting military airfields on Russian territory.

However, the deputy US defence chief did not provide details about the type of the proposed weapons. Hicks also gave assurances that the US side would continue to provide the Ukrainian side with intelligence information.
