Locals Identified Belarusian Special Forces Among Occupiers In Bucha

The secretary of the local city council informed about it.

Residents of occupied Bucha, near Kyiv, identified representatives of Belarusian special forces among the military in the town. Secretary of Bucha Town Council Taras Shapravsky said this on March 31 on air of the Freedom joint television project, which was broadcast on the UNIAN channel in YouTube, reports gordonua.com.

The presenters asked Shapravsky if it was known what units of the occupiers were in the town.

"Bucha is divided into approximately five sectors. These five sectors, according to the occupiers themselves, are controlled by different groups. It is known for sure that one of the sectors is controlled by Kadyrovtsy, there are Russian military forces as well, it is also known that the Belarusian Special Forces and riot police are there," the Secretary of the Bucha Town Council said.

Shapravsky was asked about the presence of military men from Belarus in the town.

"Our volunteers, who were and are still in the town and help people - they saw the Belarusian chevrons on shoulder straps and were able to identify exactly the Belarusian troops, Belarusian Special Forces. It was written there on the chevrons... That's the information from our volunteers, from our citizens, who have seen everything with their own eyes," the official said.

According to Shapravsky, the information about the presence of Belarusian special forces in Bucha is known to the Ukrainian special services.

"I'll even tell you one more fact: one of our employees of a communal enterprise, an employee of... the ritual service... when he came in the morning, he saw that the [administrative] building [in the cemetery] had been opened, the supplies he had - had been eaten, and there was a Belarusian uniform on the table. With chevrons "Republic of Belarus", Special Forces. That is, it was identified very clearly," stressed the secretary of the Bucha Town Council.

He added that despite official statements by Minsk, Belarusian units are taking part in the war in Ukraine.
