The Armed Forces of Ukraine have struck enemy positions on Snake Island. Ukrainian defenders hit the control point and destroyed an anti-aircraft missile system Strela-10.
This was reported by the South Operational Command. It is also noted that Ukrainian troops continue fighting at the occupied line.
The enemy attempted to advance towards Mykolayiv region near the settlements of Tavriyske and Novaya Zarya, but had no success, suffered significant losses and retreated.
"In the Black Sea operational zone, our forces struck enemy positions on Snake Island. The control post was hit, an anti-aircraft missile system Strela-10 was destroyed, the losses of the Rashists are being specified," the report reads.
The total enemy losses for the day are: 16 occupants, 1 tank and 4 vehicles, 2 of them armoured.
Odessa region was attacked by 3 cruise missiles, the bridge over the Dniester estuary was hit. There were no casualties. Traffic is partially restricted. Restoration work is underway.
The enemy is undermining the situation around Transnistria by organising simulated terrorist attacks and announcing missile strikes. Residents of the "PMR" are being sent messages on behalf of the Ukrainian Armed Forces calling for evacuation.
The Russian troop grouping in Transnistria is put on full alert.
The Strela-10 is a Soviet-era surface-to-air missile system (SAM) for ground forces.
It is designed to control airspace using an opto-electronic system and destroy detected air targets at low altitudes. It was adopted by the USSR Armed Forces in 1976.
