Minister of Labor and Social Security Iryna Kastsevich has spoken about the situation in the labor market under the sanctions on the Belarus 1 TV channel, reports Nasha Niva.

"Today, there are new challenges and threats from the outside, they are growing. The market has reacted to it. In March and April, we saw an increase in the forced underemployment, idle time. The collectives are restructuring their work. We have introduced weekly monitoring. We have internal sectoral headquarters to be promptly involved in solving the problem, when we see a problem in a particular team," said Iryna Kastsevich.

According to her, if a person loses his former income, there are ways to solve this problem - the temporary transfer to another employer, who has orders, temporary employment today. "Now there are seasonal field works, a person can earn an extra kopeck," said the minister.

Kastsevich reported that in January-March 2022, the number of people employed in the economy of Belarus was 4.245-4.246 million.
