Inflation Continues To Set Records In Belarus

Food prices have risen shockingly over the past year.

Inflation continues to accelerate in Belarus. Goods and paid services in May grew by 17% compared to the same period last year, reports zerkalo.io with reference to the pro-government Belstat. The price of food products rose most noticeably over the past year — by 19.3%.

Non-food products in annual terms rose in price by 18.7%, and paid services — by 10.8%.

Herein, for five months of this year, from January to May, inflation amounted to 11.9%. And this is all according to official data.
